Kerri Barton

I hold two primary beliefs about human beings; firstly, I believe that every individual is (and deserves to be) infinitely unique. Secondly, I believe that every person can grow and be better than the person they are today.

My favorite thing about therapy is that it can be tailored to every individual when it comes to their own authentic thoughts, feelings, experience, needs, or desires. For this reason, I prefer to work from an integrated approach of humanistic perspectives, such as mindfulness, and other cognitive-behavioral approaches as well.

Through an integrated approach, I can begin understanding your individuality, help you define what happiness looks like for you, help you make a plan for growth, and support your journey in achieving your goals.

Having spent much of my life within the St. Joseph & Kansas City areas, I enjoy being involved and investing in our local communities. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish, at Missouri Western State University, and I am currently working on a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Adam’s State University. I am excited to do my internship in Kansas City at Soileau Partners Psychotherapy, and I am under clinical site supervision with Jon Soileau.

Mental health is just as important as physical health; there is no shame in being proactive about your health or taking charge of your mental health through receiving treatment. If you need help or you just want to be a better you, reach out to schedule a consult so we can talk about what that looks like for you, together.

Kerri is a Counseling Intern and is currently working on her graduate degree through Adams State University. Kerri works with individual clients at a reduced rate, offering a sliding scale.
