Benefits:
Clinical Mental Health students will be provided with a diverse selection of individuals, ranging from adolescents to seniors, and marriage and Family Therapist students will be provided with a diverse selection of individuals, couples, and families.
During the practicum semester, students will not be asked to conduct new patient consultations or work with scheduling new patients. Once students enter their internship, they will be provided training and support to begin conducting new patient consultations and manage their weekly clinical calendar.
If applicants are interested in working with specific types of patients, we ask that this be communicated during the interview process.
All of our interns will be able to help develop and facilitate or co-facilitate group therapy.
We anticipate adding two to three new interns in 2025. If you have additional questions about openings, please contact our Clinical Director, Jon Soileau.
We request that you submit a current professional resume and curriculum vitae. We usually take 3-5 business days to review each applicant's information. Once your information is reviewed, we will contact you to do a brief interview by phone, and based on your responses, you may be contacted for a final, in-person interview.
Most of our student interns have worked full-time during their internship and have had no struggles with exceeding hour requirements for both practicum and internship. We seek to be flexible to meet the needs of our students when special circumstances arise.
During your phone interview, we will discuss days and times available for seeing patients. The requirements are that you have at least 1 (4 hours) evening or weekend available every week, attend the individual supervision meetings, and fulfill all of your graduate program’s hour expectations.
